The d&b B2 SUB is an actively driven subwoofer which uses a pair of 18″ LF drivers mounted in a bandpass horn cabinet. The cabinet is constructed from marine plywood coated with an impact resistant paint. Fitted each side of the cabinet sides are four recessed handles and, on the rear panel, four heavy duty wheels. On the front is a rigid steel grill with a replaceable acoustically transparent foam cover. Catches to secure an optional protective transport cover are also fitted to the top and bottom front edges of the cabinet.
The d&b B2 is d&b’s largest subwoofer and with its high output bandpass horn design and extremely high SPL it is ideal for extended bass requirements. It is configurable to be either an infrabass for the d&b C4 or d&b Q1 system or a high output, alternative subwoofer for the d&b C7 systems. When used with a d&b C4 system, d&b recommend a ratio of four d&b C4-SUBs to one d&b B2. The d&b B2 cabinet is constructed from marine plywood, has an impact resistant paint finish and eight integral steel handles. The front of the subwoofer cabinet is fitted with catches at the sides for securing an optional transport lid, and mounted on the rear are four heavy duty wheels.
The d&b B2 is driven by d&b’s D12 dual channel amplifier configured for the d&b B2. More detailed information on specific loudspeaker setups with d&b amplifiers is available either in the relevant loudspeaker or amplifier manuals.
